Phi Beta Lambda members at Peru State College helped at the annual high school business contest the college hosted on February 16, 2011. While spending a day competing in various business competitions, high school members from the surrounding areas, many of which are involved in local FBLA chapters, had the chance to learn about PBL. Upon completion of the awards ceremony, PBL members handed out snacks to the competing students with assistance of funding from President Hanson. Each teacher was given a promotional sheet discussing PBL, along with cards students had the option of filling out for more information about the organization. While students had a chance to visit Peru and compete, Phi Beta Lambda had the opportunity to recruit.
